Weeklong Blood drive by Local Lions Club.

Lions Club of Berkeley Annapurna has been hosting annual Blood drive since last decades and a large number of community members always encourage and participate in the even. In this difficult time (Covid -19) we can’t host the event as before, but we don’t want to discontinue the event that has been hosting since last decade, said program coordinator Lion Dhruva Thapa in a club meeting and initiated to host the event differently. Club President Lion Govind Shahi, Region Chair Lion Manil Babu Shrestha, other Past Presidents and participants of Zoom Club meeting held on June 13,2020 suggested hosting the event before they complete their tenure in June. The decision was taken in a very short notice and the event is completely different format than before, therefore the organizing committee request all the Lions Clubs of our districts 4-C3 and community members to support this noble cause and make an appointment to donate blood in their convenient time. for details please visit the facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/265800447965255/

“You can still go out and give blood. We’re worried about potential blood shortages in the future. Social distancing does not have to mean social disengagement.” U.S. Surgeon General

“We need people to start turning out in force to give blood.” That urgent call-to-action coming from Peter Marks, M.D., Ph.D., director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, as fear about the coronavirus is keeping people from wanting to donate blood.
