Dhruva Thapa is a versatile individual who has received numerous accolades for his accomplishments as a journalist, freelancer, published poet, cookbook author, yoga practitioner, and blogger. He has contributed to various print and online media outlets through his news articles and interviews. Moreover, he has served as the Charter member and Past President of Lions Clubs of Berkeley Annapurna.

Poet, Food Blogger, author, Yoga Practitioner, and social entrepreneur.

Dhruva holds a Master of Arts in Geography & Applied Geography from the University of North Bengal, India. He has a diverse career background, having worked as a Teacher, Lecturer, Vice Principal in Nepal, Journalist, Social worker, trainer, Language Translator and Interpreter, freelance writer, and Chef-owner / Founder of Taste of the Himalayas in Berkeley, CA. In 2002, he presented a special presentation on Quality Education at the International Convention of ICSQC Georgetown, Kentucky.

Dhruva is an accomplished writer and editor, having written for major online Nepali and English websites from the USA, and served on the Board of Editors for INSIGHT Literary Magazine of the International Nepali Literary Society, USA. He has also represented the Nepali News Paper “Vishwaparikrama” published in Washington D.C. In addition, he is the Chief Editor of the “Outreach” Souvenir of ANA 2009, and Chair Person of ANA 2009 Souvenir, Logo/theme, and publication. He is also the Chief Editor of KOSELI, a Souvenir of NAGC published on the occasion of Visit Nepal year 2011 in Oakland, California.

Dhruva has received various awards and letters of Appreciation from different organizations, including the International Nepali Web Journalism Award 2010 for his website hamrosamaj.net. He speaks, reads, and writes in Nepali, English, Hindi, Bengali, and other Indian and Nepalese languages, covering 1.5 billion people in South East Asia or the Indian Subcontinent and around the world. He is passionate about uplifting the community through publication and literary works.

In terms of his literary achievements, Dhruva has been named “Poetry Ambassador USA 2006” by the International Library of Poetry, USA, and has twice received the Lions Clubs International Presidents award in 2017 and 2018. He has edited various magazines, including Pratibha School Magazine in Nepal, Aagan Nepali Magazine in India, and “And Friends on Earth Souvenir” in the USA. He is also the author of “Dhruva Thapa ka git ra Kavita” (Songs and Poetry Collection), launched by Nobel Prize winners Dr. Charles Towens and Dr. Maithily Aiyer on May 10, 2010, in Berkeley, CA. His poetry collection in English, “The Dream We Had Together,” was selected and published by Bay area alternative Press in Berkeley, California, last summer.

हाल : २००२ देखि अमेरिकाको सन् फ्रान्सिस्को बे एरियामा रेस्टुरेन्ट व्यवसाय , स्वतन्त्र पत्रकारिता, साहित्य सेवा , दुभाषीय सेवा गर्दे बसेका उनि अमेरिका आउन अघि इटहरी स्थित त्रिभुवन बिश्वबिधालय अन्तर्गतको कलेजमा सात बर्ष सम्म अंग्रेजीको प्राध्यापन र इटहरीमै मोडर्न प्रिपटोरी बोर्डिंग स्कुलको संचालन गरेका थिए । विभिन्न सामाजिक संघ संस्थामा आबद्ध थापा क्यालिफोर्नियामा अन्तरास्ट्रिय नेपाली साहित्य समाजका प्रथम अध्यक्ष हुन्। लायन्स क्लब अफ बर्क्ली अन्नपुर्णाको भुतपुर्व अध्यक्ष , नेपाल विश्व सहयोग संघको उपाध्यक्ष रहेका छन्। अंग्रेजी र नेपाली दुवै भाषामा लेख्न रुचाउने उनका कविता संग्रह ” ध्रुव थापाका गीत र कविताहरु ” नेपालीमा र ” The dream we had together ” अंग्रेजीमा पहिलो र दोश्रो संस्करण समेत प्रकासित छन्। साथै अमेरिकामा नेपाली पाक सम्बन्धि पुस्कतक र बिभिन्न साहित्यिक र सामाजिक संस्थाका स्मारिका सम्पादन तथा साहित्यिक पत्रिका प्रकाशन समेत गरेका छन् भने उनका केहि पुस्तकहरु प्रकासनको तयारीमा छ ।
