Lions District 4-C3 Elects New Leadership at Annual Convention

Dublin, CA – May 3, 2025 — Dublin, CA – May 3, 2025 — Lions from across Alameda and Contra Costa Counties gathered at the Holiday Inn Dublin on May 2–3, 2025, for the District 4-C3 Annual Convention, a signature event celebrating leadership, service, and fellowship. Hosted by Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Manil Shrestha of the Lions Club of Berkeley Annapurna, the convention brought together dedicated members to reflect on achievements and set the course for the coming Lions year.

The convention marked a moment of celebration and transition as District Governor Darlene Ridle was honored for her outstanding leadership and successful completion of her term (2024–2025). DG Darlene was recognized for strengthening club engagement, promoting community visibility, and supporting impactful service projects across the district. Her inclusive leadership style and unwavering commitment to the core mission—“We Serve”—left a lasting impression on Lions throughout District 4-C3.

The highlight of the convention was the unanimous election of Lion Laxmi Chaudhary as District Governor for 2025–2026. A Charter Member and Past President of the Lions Club of Berkeley Annapurna, Lion Laxmi is a proven leader whose election marks another milestone for her club, which has now produced three District Governors and nurtured many regional community leaders.

“Thank you for the kind words and well wishes,” Laxmi shared on Facebook. “Your congratulations have given me an extra boost of confidence and motivation to continue pursuing my goals.”

In addition to the election of the new District Governor, the following officers were elected:

Lion Valerie Griffin – First Vice District Governor (1st VDG)

Lion Manju Nadaraja-Potuhera – Second Vice District Governor (2nd VDG)

A highlight of the campaign was a special rally featuring a dedicated campaign song composed by Past President Dhruva Thapa, and livestreamed by Past President Bindu Sapkota. The rally energized attendees and celebrated the spirit of unity and service.

The Lions Club of Berkeley Annapurna, the home club of both the incoming and immediate past district governors, continues to serve as a leadership hub in the region. Its members have consistently demonstrated excellence in service and leadership development within the district and beyond.

With new leadership under District Governor Laxmi Chaudhary, 1st VDG Valerie Griffin, and 2nd VDG Manju Nadaraja-Potuhera, District 4-C3 is poised for another dynamic year of growth, inclusion, and impactful service.
