Lions Club of Berkeley Annapurna celebrated its 9th Charter Anniversary last Sunday with friends and families of Charter members, current officers and district dignitaries. On the Occasion of Anniversary character President Mr.Rajen Thapa thanked Lions club for the contribution. The chief guest and the Induction officer, District Governor Lion Vince Lipinski inducted new fourteen new lions on the occasion. He also invited all the chartered members on the stage who have gained the status of membership of Lions Club. He explained all does and dids of Lions Club and he told that every human being is a bundle of possibilities. He thanked the past Presidents for the beautiful Organization which they established. All of the new members received lions pin and packages from the Lions club International. The president says that Social work is everything and they are still marching forward on their way of social work. He also congratulated the past President for developing the club. He mentioned that the Organization was established in right time and because of that small things are going on great ways.

Among 14 new inducted members Yubraj Karki, Sapana Paneru, Sangita Gurung, Laxmi Karki, Rabindra Rai, Sita Karki Giri, Nirmala Karki Lamichhane, Sujit Singh, Prakash Neupane were present on the occasion. They received pins, certificates and packages from the Lions Clubs international. New lions Yubraj Karki, Sapana Paneru and Rabindra Rai expressed utmost pleasure and pride to be a lion. They expressed their commitments to serve to the full of their ability and knowledge.

Immediate Past President Lion Tilak Sunar, Past President Lion Ramchandra Dhakal, Membership Chair Lion Ishwar Sitaula and Guiding Lion Lion Harihar Dahal were decorated with pins received from the international for their contributions for the lion year 2013/2014. 1st Vice President Lion Dhruva Thapa conducted the program as the Master of Ceremony. Charter president Lion Rajen Thapa was felicitated for his invaluable contributions to charter and nurture this club. Club president Lion Hema Paneru put khada around him and Zone Chair Lion Mani Nepali read the felicitation letter on the occasion. The felicitation letter was awarded to the Charter president by District Governor of district 4C3 Lion Vince Lipinski. Lion Rajen Thapa speaking on the occasion, thanked the president and the team for felicitating him and honoring the past. Charter president Lion Rajen Thapa recognized all the present members who attended the ceremony that evening. Club president Hema Paneru honored past presidents and Charter members ZC Lion Mani Nepali Paneru, Lion Ramchandra Dhakal, Lion Chinkaji Shrestha and Lion Tilak Sunar. Likewise, Charter members Lion Dhruva Thapa, Lion Ishwar Sitaula, Lion Nuren Baral were honored. Lions Club of Berkeley Annapurna has thanked Nepal Association for Global Cooperation NAGC that sponsored the hall by paying 50% of the rent. President Lion Hema Paneru called the ceremony to order and PDG Lion Linda Griffin led the invocation.
